What it costs

What 0% markup on AI actually means

It means Ura never sells you AI. You hold the subscription with Anthropic or OpenAI directly, you pay them what they charge, and Ura adds nothing to it and takes nothing from it. There is no credit balance, no token count, and no cheaper substitute model behind the scenes.

Why it is worth stating so bluntly

"Free AI" and "unlimited AI" nearly always mean somebody is absorbing a cost that will eventually need recovering, usually through a limit that appears later. Saying 0% markup is narrower and duller, and it has the advantage of being checkable: your AI bill arrives from your provider, not from us.

What it does not mean

  • It does not mean free AI. You pay your provider, at their price.
  • It does not mean unlimited. Your provider's fair-use terms still apply, exactly as they would without Ura.
  • It does not mean everything is free. Hosting starts at £10 a month, because keeping something online has a real cost.

Where Ura does earn

Hosting, and only hosting. That is the deliberate arrangement: the part that costs us money to run is the part you pay for, and the part that costs us nothing is free and unmetered. It also means we have no reason to want you to build less.
