Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Ura, a desktop application for building small web apps, and our optional paid hosting service. By downloading the app or subscribing, you agree to them.

The app

The Ura desktop app is free to download and use. Some features rely on third-party tools and AI assistants that you sign in to with your own accounts and credentials. Ura does not resell those tools or their usage, you bring and pay for them yourself, under their own terms.

Your licence to use Ura

Ura is free to download, but it is not yours to take apart. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app. Ura, its code, its design and everything in it stay ours. Nothing here transfers ownership of any part of the software to you.

So you may not copy, redistribute, resell, rent, sublicense or host the app for others, and you may not modify it, reverse engineer it, decompile or disassemble it, or extract its source code, assets or the instructions it gives to AI assistants. You may not remove or obscure our branding or any notice inside the app. These restrictions do not apply where the law says they cannot: some countries preserve a limited right to decompile software in order to make it work with something else, and that right stands regardless of what this page says.

None of this touches what you build. The projects you make with Ura are yours, including the code inside them, and you can do whatever you like with them. This section is about the app itself, not your work.

The hosting subscription

Our paid service publishes an app you build and runs it as a managed service, a live web address, a database, and the data transfer and storage to operate it. It is a single plan that you size yourself, starting at £10/month, billed monthly. Prices are shown excluding tax; VAT or sales tax, where your country charges it, is added at checkout. A free tier lets you keep projects live within a modest usage allowance.

Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Cancelling your subscription stops future renewals and does not refund the current billing period; you retain access to your current plan until the end of that period. Increasing your plan size takes effect immediately and the prorated difference is charged at that time. Decreasing your plan size takes effect at the next renewal date and does not generate refunds or account credits.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, our Merchant of Record and authorised reseller. Stripe handles billing, taxes, and receipts. Your subscription is subject to Stripe's buyer terms in addition to these. Your card statement and your receipts will show Onelink, which is how Stripe sells on our behalf.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for what you publish. You may not use Ura to host or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, malicious (malware, phishing), deceptive, or that violates others' rights. We may suspend or remove any project or account that breaches this policy or Stripe's Acceptable Use Policy, and may remove content or take a site offline where required.

The same applies to anything you share to the Hub or show on your public page: nothing unlawful, nothing that pretends to be someone else, nothing that misleads. We moderate reactively, and we may take a shared project or a whole page down, or freeze the account behind it, when a report proves out. Anyone can report a page from the link in its footer.

Your public page

Sharing a project to the Hub creates a public page for it, and for you, at ura.dev/your-name. That page, and the name in its address, exist only while you have shared things; unsharing removes them.

Usernames are licensed, not owned. We may reclaim, reassign or disable a username, for example where it impersonates a person or brand, infringes a trademark, is used for abuse, or where we need it to operate the service. If we ever reclaim a name you are actively using, we will give you notice, offer a close alternative, and redirect your old address for a reasonable period. Usernames on accounts with no sign-in for 12 months may be released.

Your content

You retain ownership of the apps and content you create. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, serve, and back up your project so the service can function.

Availability & liability

The service is provided "as is." We work to keep it available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the previous month. Keep your own backups of anything important, your projects are ordinary files on your computer.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
